pleasure reading

There’s a stack of books by the bed that I’ll be tackling as my late-night reading this semester, starting with…

Whitney Terrell, The Huntsman
Azar Nafisi, Reading Lolita in Tehran
Jeffrey Eugenides, Middlesex: A Novel
Chang Rae Lee, Aloft
Donna Tartt, The Secret History

  1. I’m glad you reminded me to track down a copy of Azar Nafisi’s “Reading Lolita.” One of the women who served on the jury with me was reading it and highly recommended it. One of the oddest aspects of serving on a jury was getting so many book recommendations from my fellow jurors….

  2. By the way, I just started reading Jean-Philippe Toussaint’s Television, a novel, and I’m really enjoying it.

  3. Interesting list…I read Middlesex last summer (when I was on jury duty) and just read Brick Lane a month or two ago. So I’m going to add some of your other titles to my library list . . .

  4. I’m next in line at the library for Reading Lolita in Tehran. I read Middlesex a few months ago and really enjoyed it.
