Yeah, this thing sounds beautiful. My aesthetic goal right now is to sound like Gustavo Santaolalla does on the soundtrack to 21 Grams.
Edith Frost recently coined the term “ambient country,” and it’s this sort of stuff that has captured my imagination lately.
But the amp is versatile enough to do other things, too. It’s just not really the kind of thing you buy if what you’re after is a modern rock “grind.”
oooooh. Those are great amps. I have a mid-60s (?) Silvertone 1472 that I picked up in a pawn shop as a practice amp (so I didn’t have to lug my giant 2×12″ combo around) that I swear by. They just don’t make’em like that anymore.
Oops. Make that a Silvertone 1482!
