countdown to war

In about 30 minutes, the 48 hours Bush proclaimed in his ultimatum will expire. It’s hard to think about much else. Compounding matters, for me, is the fact that my dad is in Vietnam and scheduled to be flying back to Georgia in the next couple of days. I can only hope that international travel is safe. {And that my dad arrives home healthy}. Also, L is on the way from DC to NYC for a conference and then flying back to KC. If I’m this worried, how must the families of the soldiers who will be fighting feel? Or those civilians on the ground in and around Iraq?

Far be it from me to get on a soapbox, but might I be so bold as to ask us to remember that Bush answered, “Jesus Christ,” when asked who his favorite political philosopher is?
